I'm sure you all know what today is! You don't? I had no idea either, until Beth informed me that today is Mandatory Blogging Day if Your Blog has the Word Yellow In It!
That would've been an embarrassing holiday to miss!
I have some photos to share, but while 488 of them upload, let me be inspired by Beth's post and share what I've been reading.
Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock. I read The Good Luck of Right Now by this author and really loved it - this one though, I'm not sure. I was expecting one type of story & got another. It tried to teach me a lesson and the stubborn part of me didn't want to be taught. On many levels, though, it was a heartwarming & an important book.
The Girl on the Train. This was a great choice for an audiobook. I got really into it on my drive to Duluth - so much so, that at one point, I was a little scared. I arrived in Duluth with 20 minutes left, so the next day Karley & I finished it up, and like Beth, the ending was just kinda ehhhh.
All the Light we Cannot See. I really liked this one! It was written beautifully & had some really great characters.
Housekeeping: Let me preface this by saying my intentions reading this one weren't totally innocent. I read this one with the hopes of getting a copy of a presentation (on this book) written by an incredibly smart friend of mine. I really, really loved the book. It read like poetry and I only wanted to read one chapter and let that sink in before I started another one. And this passage about the wind is just SO Fargo. I bet I say, "That wind!" at least 3 times per week. I'm happy to report I was given a copy of the presentation and it made this book all the more special.
Lean In. This was another recent favorite of mine. It exposed me to a lot of ideas I hadn't even considered. It really resonated with me, and was one of those books I keep talking about, long after I've finished it!
I'm currently reading these two novels. So far, I'm loving them both!
