Avs Game

A few weeks ago Beth took me to an Avalanche game.  We sat in the 2nd or 3rd row and both screamed every time someone got checked.  It was pretty intense!

We went to a game two years ago and started our tradition of peanut M&M's and hot chocolate. Mmmmmmmm

I'm not sure what Beth was actually trying to take a picture of here, but check out the guy sitting on my left.  Why is it so funny?

Daddy & Roey!!

I'm a few weeks late on blogging this, but now I can relive it all over again!
I picked my Dad & my sister Roey up on Wednesday night and we chilled out and dressed Oliver up. (Typical night)

Thursday morning we toured The Mint at 8am & ate at Snooze afterwards.
The Mint tour was potentially pretty interesting, but it fell a little short.  Dad kept asking, "Where are all the workers?"

In the afternoon, we took Oli to City Park.

Roey & I went to Grease on Thursday night.  This was our program & I was so concerned that this dude was going to be playing Danny Zuko.

This must've been Friday...breakfast at IHOP and a self-guided tour of the capitol & the Molly Brown Museum.

Friday night, Roey went to hang with her high school classmate, Jyl, while Dad helped me put together my new dresser! There were SO many small pieces and if he wasn't there, I probably would've given up, but we finished it!
We finished the basic frame and Dad was picking up some of the bigger pieces and lost his balance and almost fell right onto the dresser.  It was a close one! I think we would've gotten a pre-assembled dresser the 2nd time around!!

Saturday! We adopted Beth for the Loop Train in Georgetown.

(Root) Beer & Brats!

After supper, we went to Get Low.  We were trying to figure out what was the last movie we went to as a family.  Roey said River Rats (1984) & the first and only one I remember is Dick Tracy (1990), but we realized we had seen National Treasure (2004) since then.

And the big catastrophe of the weekend - My ceiling started dripping and I wanted to ignore it until my family left, but I called & they cut a huge hole out of my ceiling and took the next several days to repair it.
Thankfully, we could use the shower everyday and Oliver had fun at Doggie day care.

I was so sad to see them leave and Oliver fell into his usual post-company depression, but I'm going home for Thanksgiving this year for the first time since I moved here, so I'm looking forward to that!!

Race for the Cure: Completed!

I was so pleasantly surprised to have surpassed my fundraising goal this year! I posted the link on Facebook and was overwhelmed with gratitude to get donation after donation! I have such generous friends.

This year was my 2nd Race for the Cure with Loren & Adam!
Here's my post from last year. And oh my, I haven't changed much, because I came up with the exact same blog post title!  How original of me.
It was a lot warmer than last year and we learned our lesson and didn't get downtown quite so alarmingly early.

Me & Loren
Loren & Adam! Awwww
Adam noticed this adorable couple.  They are dressed in their Sunday best, with race t-shirts over.  They made me smile.

It was an adventure trying to run through the crowds!  We paid special attention to the outfits of others and decided next year, our theme would be unicorns.  (It was really early.)

We crossed the finish line!!

Who is faster, Loren or Adam?

My t-shirt is based on a painting by my friend, Joey. It's part of a non-profit established in honor of his bandmate, Mike Freeman, who passed away from brain cancer last year.

Reminisce with me!

Tomorrow morning is Race for the Cure, so I dug out some old pictures of my mom.

I think this first one is my favorite little gem of the group! Roey could probably tell you the exact day of the week, time, occasion & location, but I can't. Maybe 1989?
I love my facial expression & Bill's proud display of the Norwegian flag.
And I won't even begin to discuss the obvious resemblance between Roey and  Napoleon Dynamite....(love you, Roey!)

These were taken much later!

Our mornings

I've started bringing my phone with on our morning jogs.  Besides having a camera, I get the benefit of music from Pandora and I don't miss Roey's (a little too late) wake-up calls.  It's challenging to take pictures while trying to hold Oliver still, so a lot of them don't turn out, but some turn out pretty.
