New Blooms

I'm taking advantage of the extreme sunniness of my apartment with these pretty blooms.  Here's to hoping they live!!
The yellow pot (2nd from the right) has been around for at least a year and my little basil plant was grown from just a tiny seed a few months ago.

Happy Father's Day...or should I say, Happy Farsdag! Jeg elsker deg så høyt!

Maybe crazy Kenny was right when he told me to drop out of college and learn everything from you!  Can't wait to see you next month!

The new place

Here are a few photos from the blank apartment.  The greenery has since been trimmed, which allows for even more early morning sun - a morning person's dream.

And what a housewarming gift..........A few days after I moved in, an Xcel substation exploded a block away!
I made Beth skip yoga and pick me up and we got smoothies at Panera and wandered around City Park.  31,000 people were without power, but amazingly, mine was restored by 9 p.m.

Good-Bye Hampden Avenue!

These were from a few weeks ago, but now I'm officially out of my old apartment 100%.
Thanks Beth, for helping me the night before the movers came and also, thanks for not stealing my favorite shoes (again) and my picnic hat.
The checkout was so much less stressful than both Marie & I imagined.  I'm not exactly expecting a full deposit (see photo below), but everything is going to be okay.
I'm almost completely settled in my new apartment, minus the bedroom, so I'll be posting pictures!

North Dakota mini-trip Part 1!

These past few weeks have been so eventful, I don't even know where to begin!
Oliver & I drove 1,000 miles to North Dakota, where we spent one of the best weekends we've had in a long time!
It was so refreshing to really have nowhere to be and nothing to do!
We made a pit-stop in Aberdeen, where we had white house accommodations waiting for us, along with Roey & Steve!  We had a nice night of cathing up & Roey bought me chippers...yummmmmmmm

We played a few rounds of baseball.  I mostly kept Katherine company on the sidelines.
P.S. You know you're from the farm, when you use a deer tail as 3rd base. Anyway.....Steve wins for the best hit and poor Bill deserves something for playing the outfield all night.
I have vivid memories of Bill & I playing and me running waaaaaay out in the field to get the ball and him laughing hysterically.

We had an impromptu sleepover.  Katherine wanted to sleep in my bed because her hair is turning brown, like mine.  She kept saying, "It's getting darker!!"
She started to tell me about her boyfriend and started to giggle.  She's off-the-charts adorable.

I brought home a lot of DIY-type projects for Daddy to help me with.  We made a run to Menards for supplies.  I turned a framed mirror into a framed chalkboard and I had so much help.
Dad & I both ended up bleeding and yes, we'll have 7 years of bad luck (3.5 each?).
Joey & Katherine helped me paint and Katherine started crying because she had paint on her hands!
It turned out perfectly though, and I can't wait to hang it up in my new apartment!

Okay Roey & Steve, I have to go to Iron Man now, so this is all you get tonight!! Thanks for the awesome weekend!! Stay tuned.
