Finished my big projects!

Marie moved out last weekend & I turned her room into my sewing room, unofficially.  In case Oli was feeling lonely, I bought him a cute little squirrel toy and first, he tried to bite the eyes out and pull off the legs, but now he really loves it.
I finished this sweet little dress for Katherine and I'm so hoping it fits...we'll find out in a few days.  I also finished Chelsey's quilt.  I'm too embarrassed to even look up when she first asked me to make it, so we'll just say it's been awhile.  I didn't take any finished pictures, but it is by far the largest thing I've ever made!

I really dislike going to the JoAnn Fabrics on Colorado Blvd and I know I'm not the only one.
But I decided to go there anyway and Wow.
They're moving their store, so everything is on sale...including patterns.  Every pattern is $1.99 - regularly between $10-$15, so I bought 2 for Katherine, 2 for me and I went back today and got 3 more!  There's my summer sewing!
I already started Katherine's birthday dress.  It's going to be so tiny and adorable!
I also bought a nifty little magnetic pin holder wristband!

East Coast!

A few weeks ago, I spent a long weekend visiting Lyndsay on the east coast!
I arrived late on Thursday night.  Friday, we spent a rainy day in Providence, visiting the Rhode Island School of Design Museum & Olives for martinis!
Saturday, we spent the day in beautiful Newport.  We toured Rosecliff Mansion, walked for awhile on the cliff walk and ended our day with a cheesy ghost tour.
Sunday, we spend the morning in Concord, Mass and afterwards, went to Boston and ended the evening with a David Sedaris reading.
We ran into some crazy traffic and I got on the plane with 10 minutes to spare.  I didn't even get to hug Lyndsay good-bye.
I think her last words to me were,
"Get out of the car!!"
It was such a great weekend!
