XC Skiing in Frisco

Yesterday, Emily & I went to Frisco to Cross-Country Ski.  I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to sell my skis for a few years, so I gave in and used them!
The weather was amazingly warm, and combined with the sun, we shed quite a few layers by the end of the trail.  It was even warm enough to have a little picnic outside of the lodge.
And...our poor Funyuns couldn't take the elevation; they exploded shortly after this photo was taken.

I just discovered A Beatiful Mess and read the post about Dainty June, a pretty clothing line.  I LOVE evertything on the site!! I could wear these outfits every day of the week.

Mary hurts her knee

On Tuesday, I was minding my own business eating some jello and I ran into the corner of the coffee table.
I'm a whiner normally, but this hurt EXTRA bad...really, really bad.  Since then, I've been constantly saying how much it hurts to anyone that will listen (mostly Marie).
I was directed to this clip and I couldn't agree more that I am Peter.

Cherry Lime!

At approximately 2:43 p.m., Beth & I were both enjoying a Xenergy Cherry Lime Energy Drink!  We didn't believe each other, so here's the proof!

Here is Beth's drink...with her very pretty class with ice!

And mine!

Inverted Squirrel

Yesterday, Nicole & I  (and Oliver) had a nice (coyote free) run @ Bible Park.  I registered for a 5K at Wash Park on Valentine's Day morning, which is less than 3 weeks away, so I've got to get moving!
I'm underwhelmed by this week's forecast though.

This afternoon, Loren & I went to our first yoga class @ Harmony Yoga.  I've done a few DVDs before, but never a class.  It was soooooo relaxing & wonderful, but I don't know if the class environment is necessary, so I'll probably stick to videos instead.

Who is his real mother?

This week I watched Confessions of a Superhero, a documentary about the lives of the characters/performers on Hollywood Boulevard.

When touring this area a few years ago, I remember quite clearly being chased by Pinhead.  In fact, I can still hear Bill's giggling in my head as he watched, amused.  I'm so glad Pinhead wasn't featured in the documentary, because...well, in short, Batman has been in and out of jail for physical altercations and boasts about his "body count" being "too many to count" and Superman, well, he's apparently pretending to be the child of a famous actress, which the documentary didn't resolve (much to my disappointment.)
There were definitely heartwarming moments and you can't help but love them (besides Batman..he was not so adorable).

Vegetable of the Week: Eggplant

image via here

In an effort to become a less picky, more healthy eater, I've decided (with the help of my vegetable mentor, Beth Ann) to try a different vegetable each week.
Last night, I grilled up some eggplant slices in olive oil with some s&p and a little garlic.  I sprinkled some Parmesan cheese on the top.  It looked really appetizing, but I'm sad to report that I didn't like it.
I'm willing to give it another chance one day, but....yuck.
Loren sent me this recipe, which looks promising, so maybe I can whip that up this weekend.

I cannot wait

When I was at home for the holiday's, we watched many (too many?) many Lifetime movies. Well, Lifetime also happens to run my favorite show ever, Project Runway. So every time a PR commercial would come on, I'd look at Roey and said, "I cannot wait for Project Runway!" Literally every time.

Pink Christmas

I've always gone to my dad's house for Christmas and never had a tree of my very own. Welllll....I stumbled upon this adorable blog and saw these photos.
I could imagine a pink tree looking all kinds of horrible and tacky, but with some clear or silver bulbs.
I'm getting excited!
