My ND weekend

Katherine's 3! I didn't take a single picture the whole time, so these are Jamie's.

Denise & I had breakfast, did a little shoe shopping (I didn't buy any!) and then she dropped me at the airport.

Starbucks 101

Marie has some trouble remembering her favorite Starbucks drink and last week she ordered the wrong thing! Yuck! So I made her this handy little card that fits perfectly in her wallet. She can present it to the barista or use it as a script to get a perfectly made drink!

A Denver Spring Morning

Oliver & I braved the elements this morning for a mini-walk. Yesterday, we got tons of wet snow, rain, some hail and everything else you could think of. The snow is so heavy & wet, mixed with total slush! A huge, heavy wet snow chunk fell from a tree on my head.

I love this picture of Oliver - you have to do what you can with the legs God gave you!

Meet Maggie, my mini-dachsund neighbor. Her owner is out of town, so I've been dog-sitting. She reminds me of a ferret mixed with a bunny. She likes to be held like a baby.

Highlights of my Weekend

My horse, Black Pony, took a break to eat a log.

Go Rockies - except they lost. They were playing the world series champions though.

Easter Brunch.

Oliver vs. the Toothbrush

Today I tried to get Oliver used the toothbrush, so in the future, I could brush his teeth. It was very similar to the pedipaws incident that happened over Christmas (shown above). I thought I had gotten beef flavored toothpaste, but apparently I got mint instead. As per the directions, I put a little on my finger and let him try it. He licked it and then actually spit it out. I've never seen a dog spit like that before!
Here are a few entertaining videos of Oliver vs. the toothbrush. The toothbrush actually just slips on my finger and comes with a gum massager (no, thanks). By the end of our little session, I actually had it sort of in his mouth, but I don't want to rush things (or lose my right index finger).
P.S. I felt like my mom."Open up and just let me scrub those - way in the back!"

First Friday

Last night Emily & I went to First Friday. The first Friday of every month, all of the galleries in the Santa Fe art district are open and people walk through blocks and blocks of art! It was wonderful. The last gallery we walked in featured the art of Rex Ray. I loved it all!

Most of his pieces consist of paper collage on plywood panels. The panels are then coated with a high gloss epoxy resin, which makes them shiny and pretty!

Here's the fabric I decided on for Katherine's dress. Roey helped pick it out.

I was two for two on April Fool's Day jokes today. They weren't so much jokes as lies, but I got a good laugh out of them, so that's all that matters.
Triathlon training is going smoothly - only 4 months left! I swam on Monday night and I am not coordinated enough to do the front crawl yet. Today I biked 5 miles. I'm hoping the weather is nice tomorrow so Oliver & I can do a bit of jogging.
